i never quite agree with all these annual awards. imho, nanjing - city of life and death, departure are much worthy films than bodyguards and assassins which i thought was quite a bad movie.

Hi Dali

Do you have investment idea about MKland? It is still trading far below NTA of 91sen or even lower if take into account RNTA of RM 1.56-2.00. Current share price trading at just 35sen seem too good to be true!? Perhaps MK land second shareholder dispose its share through open market is one of the causality limit its performance.

MK land second largest shareholder, Kasi initially hold about 25% stake in Mkland under personal account 11.8%; pledge to CIMB 6.4% and have two pledge account with Bank Mumalat, 3.8% and 2.5%. I'm suspecting that kasi MKland stake pledged at Bank Muamalat has disposing its stake progressively through open market probably due to these bank is unlike investment bank, may no longer accept kasi MKland stake as collateral.

Based on latest kasi stake in MKland down to at 19.8%, it could be the stake from its own account 11.8% + pledged under CIMB account 6.4%. With that, i suspect kasi stake in Bank Mumualat only left 1.6% only, which i think will be dispose off soon.

MK land have resume dividend payout now, currently trade cum second dividend of 1 sen and assume there is another final dividend of 1 sen to be announce together with Q 4result, MK land annual dividend could be as high as 3 sen (1 st interim + 2 interim and final dividend), yield at 8.8%!

Hi Dali

Do you have investment idea on KPS? It have announce higher take over price by KDEB for its stake in KHSB, up 10% from 76sen to 83.6sen.

KPS will partly utilize the proceed from KHSB disposal to pay special dividend to shareholder. SPECIAL DIVIDEND : 26.67sen

If take into account cum final dividend of 2 sen, total dividend payable will be as much as 28.67sen. Based on current share price of 1.42, the total cash dividend work out to more than 20% dividend return!!

KPS other pending for sale aside KHSB

1. 90.83% stake in Titisan Modal which hold 100% stake in Konsortium ABASS

2. 30% stake in SPLASH

Both pending Selangor water restructuring outcome. If the deal can be seal by end of these year, offer take over price from KDEB worth RM 1.6b will turning KPS into net cash and likely another round of special dividend.

3. 20% stake in Spirit highway (SISTEM PENYURAIAN TRAFIK KL BARAT HOLDINGS SDN BHD)

4. KPS through 99.98% stake in Cash Band is in the midst to buyback its Golf membership from its member and turning these Golf into Eco theme property development to be develop by JV between SP setia, in which KPS will entitle 13% return from total GDV or minimum of RM 200m

Hi Dali

Do you have investment idea on YTL Power? What is fair target price?

I've extract some of the information in regard to YTL Power 1bestarinet and its latest contract to supply chromebook laptop to school.

As of end-December 2012, 70% of the nations schools have been connected. And the laptops would be Chromebooks running Google Apps, the Mountain View, California tech giant’s cloud-based solution suite. Google and its Chromebook is selected base on its low-cost cloud based services versus the PC-era architecture of the others; instant-on ability; and all-day battery life.

Under the first phase to supply chromebook laptops, it costing up to RM 513.3m encompasses fixed term licensing fees of RM 250.5m and management and maintenance cost of RM 262.8m. Each school will have 41 Chromebooks made by Samsung with 3,000 schools to get them initially.

[Remark: the Samsung Chromebook is listed at RM1,299; or RM988 under the YES 4G Chromebook Plan, for RM69 per month with a monthly 3.5GB data quota].

But, with the Barisan Nasional having made an election promise that it will provide every student, plus teachers and parents, with a laptop, The numbers are daunting – 10,000 schools, over 5.3 million students, 500,000 teachers and 4.5 million parents, on one unified platform the irresistible lure of supplying 10 million laptops, now that the Barisan has been returned to power.

With each student in the country given a unique YES ID, the Chromebook becomes that student’s personal computer and with it, the lessons and e-books of that student.

YTL Communications would use the tower to roll out commercial YES 4G services to the residents of the surrounding community. As each tower can cover up to 4km radius, This infrastructure will also enable teaching to go beyond classrooms, not just anywhere in the school compound but also the surrounding areas up to a 4km radius. With this broad coverage, students, parents and teachers can use this network to access the Frog VLE from home and continue the learning experience.
