Constructive, Vindictive Or Destructive

I am all for constructive analysis and commentary. An open progressive society should always have that. However, is our society somehow more like the cartoon below ... always finding something negative to say, ... never considering the backdrop or context. It is easy to just criticise and complain, somehow by shading something darker, it makes our pitiful life bearable. In much the same way, we run the danger of branding ourselves by what we do not like, we have no problem telling others what we don't like. How do people describe you? Is it "oh, she doesn't like lamb dishes, she cannot stand Sungai Wang complex, she hates Justin Beiber,  ...." or is it "she loves dogs, she goes gaga for Baskin Robbins, she loves to climb hills ..."

Dali, your article reminds me of the number of rude and senseless commentaries I get from my recent piece on Jaya Tiasa. For example:

Mr Koon and Dali, pls go back to learn financial analysis 101!!! earnings drop drastically, who in the sane mind would be supporting this counter?! despite all the macro outlook of japan and growing plantation contribution, the fucking fundamental question remains that the earnings is still depleting!!! Pls go check the last quarter results before you make such comments.
AmLiange must check his own track record to see how much money he has made from his share investment and also how well he has performed in his work or business. His crude remark indicates that he is a frustrated failure and looking for a chance to let out his hot gas. For a start he must learn some manners before he can learn how to make money.
He is like an elephant who asked a camel ‘why your boobs are on your back?’ The camel said’ With your dick in front of your face, you dare to ask such a stupid question’.

I can only say that by and large, our view of others is molded by the prevailing norms in our society. For many of us, putting up with narrow mindedness, intolerance and inequality on a daily basis brings out our defensive attitudes in the form of cynicism and negativity. It's really hard to be otherwise.

I don't comment a lot but when I read AmLiange's comments quoted by Mr Koon Yew Jin, it's obvious the comments were malicious and intentionally so. Just ignore such comments. Such hard-hitting malicious comments indicate that Mr Koon Yew Jin could have made an excellent analysis and someone's not happy about it.

Fret not Henri Leong, any major correction will present opportunities for value buy.
Quantitative easing cannot go on forever, and investors are now finally thinking about what will happen when the tide inevitably goes out.
Federal Reserve desired to taper its monthly bond-and-mortgage-buying program has triggered the markets into upheaval. The herd mentalities are driving equities and bond prices sharply lower. The sell-off may create a vicious cycle, as the leverage that multiplied investors' gains now works against them. Margin calls are proliferating and losses are compounding, as selling fuels more selling. Sound familiar….

Mr Koon, your joke has brighten my day. I'm still laughing while writing this. Pity the elephant. XD

Hi Mr Koon: I knew your name and accorded you with the highest respect since the hot topic of 30 mil for Hostel UTAR in Kampar. Since then, I were very happy each time reading your article thru Dali’s blog.
