It has been said again and again that if you want to do business, don't get too involved in politics. Readers of this blog will surely be aware of my political leanings. However, after having heard the stupid MCA hired guns asking stupider questions, I have to say something.
As a Malaysian who happens to be Chinese, I cannot for my life accept why some chose to stay in MCA (other than for very personal reasons which we all know but need not elaborate). To me it is akin to be a "running dog". Ask yourself sincerely, how can you be an MCA person, ... and I am not even talking about Malaysian Chinese interest alone, if you are really sincere about your kids' future, and the kind of Malaysia you truly desire.
I salute LGE for smiling throughout, rising above the "staged mayhem".

Mr chua will lost more after this debate, he is not gentleman at all! It showed us how bad Mca is!!!!!'

Agree with you 100%.
it's a good debate, expose more weakness of MCA, and gain more for PR
Those MCA member shouting and provide question without facts, they really drag down MCA to a lower level.
Remember the whole Malaysia chinese are watching.
Most of the senior citizen do not lean on MCA, except those cronies craving for more projects/sweets.
Next election going to be a interesting one, Gen Y votes is going to be a significant crucial.
We want factual debate not personal or party sinister attacks...
So are Chinese at political crossroad or dead end? Both of them did not conclude. Nothing for a chinese to chew and lean at all? Keep the suspense episode for another Part 2.
Chua SL's opening attack on DAP was so stupid. Every word can be turn around to be used against MCA.
Totally agree with you on LGE's smiling, cool handling of the questions from planted audience.
they are tow-trucking themselves into oblivion.
yup. the political machinery is in full gear.
just look at the star newspaper.
quoted almost everything from CSL, but hardly anything from LGE. Conspicuously missing are LGE's rebuttal to CSL's ridiculous arguments.
and in the end, the star still mentioned that CSL came out on top after the debate!
really...wtf....
It is totally hilarious to listen to that smartly dressed lady from Penang accusing the Penang Gov of towing the cars away after 1030pm when there were not much traffic.
She seems educated, does she not know that a law is a law, when you are not supposed to park on the road, you are not suppose to!!!
oh shoot! i missed this debate of the decade ... did anyone record it on youtube or something?
anyway i was trying to catch up with what's happening in the US with the Israel/Iran thingy and the recent "ww3 war mongering"
it's definitely something bigger & when u look at the legislation changes in the US and the changes in digital world (opponents of which claim free speech is being attacked), it all seems to fall in together ... someone in the US (or the puppet masters whoever they are) wants war to "reboot" the world ... in their favor
have a look at the long commentary accompanying this vid

tell me i'm paranoid ;)
Let Tapaw MCA when come GE13.Their days are near very soon.
As a medical doctor, I fully agreed.
Perhaps MCA Selayang coordinator Ms Jessie Ooi (see link to photo of her in full foaming-at-the-mouth glory below) epitomizes that aboslute desparate bankruptcy of MCA theses days.

It was supposed to be a debate on "Chinese at the Crossroads: Is the Two-Party System Becoming a Two-Race System?", and she felt it right and proper to hijack the questions from the floor to attempt to score what she must have felt were brownie points for MCA with her way off subject ranting about towing of cars?
I do not think she was genuine about the "concern" she expressed about the ":problem". How many people did she fool with her put-on show? Or did her sandwara bouce back with a huge vengence on herself and more so, on MCA?
I do not think Chua Soi Lek and his hopeless MCA are genuine about representing the best interests of the Chinese, nor are they genuinely fighting for a better, far less corrupt and united Malaysia either.
The Chinese in particular, and Malaysians in general, are at a crossroads. With the unbelievably massive sums involved in very questionable projects and schemes, not only present Malaysians, but Malaysians for generations to come have to face the distinct possibility of severe hardships and poverty when the economic impact of the questionable projects and schemes come home to roost. Just like Perwaja, Proton, Bank Bumi, Pan-El, and a whole lot more of such, only far, far worst.
And Ms Jessie Ooi of MCA wants to play kiddie games? Ptui!
I looking for English sub version. Anyone has a YouTube link for English sub.
This is certainly not a fair debate whereby the organizer is allowing MORE CSL gangs to shoot LGE during the open questions session until a old uncle standup and sound the organizer to stop the nonsense.
This debate made us feeling very bad about our CSL which used such dirty method through LIVE TELE to ALL Malaysia Chinese.
Iam very disapointed to CSL and his team to perform such a WAYANG debate that purposely alllowing MORE CSL gangs to shoot LGE during the open question session . This is unfair.
This shows how much fishy of CSL and his team.
I disagree that MCA will lose more votes after the debate. There are no live broadcast. For the rural folks they are unable to witness the true behavior of Dr. Chua and his members. Besides that let us look at Sin Chew and The Star. They are no longer media. They are just merely a political tool for MCA. This will helps MCA to gain support from the rural folks.
boring debate
LGE comes across inexperienced against CSL who is a better orator
MCA had some funny characters asking stupid questions
for a real debate, one should check out rafizi's and khairy's debate. it actually sound like the opposition stopped politicking and the government stopped squashing ppl who disagrees with them

I'm truly agreed with your opinion of "running dog"! MCA is no longer relevent in the Malaysia political landscape.
I'm fed up completely with CSL as he is barking like a mad dog to counter attack Pakatan Rakyat with his "black against black" and "worst against worst" approach!
He is not a real politician but merely a selfish traveller in the Malaysia politic arena.
A real poliician is the one with ambition for moving up our level of development to the world class standard. He must be able to remove all hurdles that blocking along that journey.
In this respect, Can he capable to resolve our number one national issue surmounting in our country: Stop the financial leaking from our system?
Can he restore the meritocracy in our public service sector and education system?
Can he resolve the decades long education issues like shortage of teachers in the chinese school?
Can he turning our decade long deficit into surplus amid the country comodities prices at the paek cycle?
Can he not continue to demonstrate with his inferior complex in front of his master?
Can he behave not like a running dog to his master?
i was wondering what kind of "quality" leaders/brains are there still in MCA? apart from scandalous, dog barking, selfish and brainless rotten candidates... Look at the quality of the members, it is an insult to any supporters of theirs. Do they expect us to give them mandates to represent us? there is only 1 way to go if they keep represent us --- HELL!!
Actually I was amazed by the blatant bias and stupidity of MCA's team. Who did they expect to fool? They must be extremely hardpressed to recruit real talent.

I seldom read your blog, due to work constraint, although i find your analysis interesting most of the time. On MCA, I cant agree more. I just have to put that on record.
As a matter of fact, MCA has never been relevant or any good since under Dr M. The only thing was the people had no one else to turn to. Now there's LGE and DAP and an alternative. An alternative that is proving to the people that it can manage better and more profitably than the current government.
